The Editor-in-Chief of The Baltic Sentinel Meelis Oidsalu (46) holds a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He has also completed the High Command Studies Course at The Baltic Defense College in Tartu, Estonia.

In addition to his role at The Baltic Sentinel, Meelis is an adjacent editor for Postimees, focusing on defense and governance issues.

His previous work life included 21 years of service at the Estonian Ministry of Defense (from 2000 to 2021), including various Deputy Secretary General positions for Defense Readiness, Legal Affairs, Cyber Defense, and Defense Planning.

The Baltic Sentinel relies on Postimees' prominent international relations journalists to provide in-depth analysis and reporting. However, we are also an open platform that encourages contributions from journalists, think tanks, and security experts from other countries and media houses.
